Turnstone at Deeping Lakes

© Will Bowell
This summer plumaged Turnstone was present for just the morning but was distant most of the time so only allowed for record shots. Found by Ray Bowell, it concluded a rather excellent bank holiday weekend down at Deeping Lakes with 11 species of wader being recorded; Oystercatcher, Ringed Plover, Lapwing, Dunlin, Snipe, Bar-tailed Godwit, Whimbrel, Redshank, Green Sandpiper, Common Sandpiper and of course this Turnstone.
