"Very few gulls at the pit last night, due to a pond dipping session organised by the local Wildlife Trust. On a brighter note, managed to sneak up on the Little Egret."

"According to my field guide, Turtle Doves are shy birds, but after seeing and hearing single birds from a distance near my back garden, one decided to eat some of the mixed seeds on the back garden grass in the last few days.

"We only have a small garden here in Langtoft (just round the corner from Phil and Amanda Ackerman). I have taken a few pictures with my relatively low-powered Fuji S304 digital camera, hand-held against my Swarovski ATS80HD scope. The Turtle Dove did not seem too bothered with my close attention - maybe it was hungry."
